Ingredients
- 1 cups onion, chopped
- 1 cups carrot, chopped
- 3 celery stalks, chopped
- 12 ounces dry split peas
- 3 cups low-sodium chicken broth
- 2 cups water
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1/4 teaspoons black pepper
Preparation:
- Place all ingredients in a large soup pot. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to simmer.
- Cook, uncovered, until the peas are tender, about 45 minutes. Serve hot.
